Magazine Genre Codes and Conventions #6 (Presentation)

Entrepreneur Magazine Analysis While designing my magazine, I will keep in mind of the cover since for the most part, the cover image should represent what the magazine will be focusing on in depth. Also, since I personally like fonts that have serifs I might use this type of font for my magazine. Also, I should consider the color in the background of the image since the background color can influence an individual to either buy the magazine or not. Furthermore, I should consider my cover picture and the cover line’s design. Since this particular magazine has their main cover line on the left of the cover with multiple fonts, colors, and sizes this has given some ideas for my magazine. For my magazine’s table of contents, I should try to give it a font that speaks volume to what my magazine will be about. This part of my magazine goes beyond just the scope of the genre but has to correspond to the specific issue I am going to delve in. I should also consider the number of page...

Magazine Genre Codes and Conventions #5 ( Magazine's Actual Target Audience)

Image
For four decades, Entrepreneur has been the definitive guide to the diverse challenges of entrepreneurship. Each issue equips leaders with the critical information they require to expand their visions and grow their ventures. Published 10 times a year, available in print and digital editions. 3x annual Startups publication, designed to guide emerging entrepreneurs through the inspiration, launch and critical first few years of business. International editions are available in Mexico, the Middle East/North Africa, South Africa, India, China, and the Philippines. Since most entrepreneurs fall into the middle-class category, my magazine would target middle to upper-middle-class individuals as their target audience. Furthermore, the gender difference between entrepreneurs implies that my magazine will try and target white males because white males make up the majority of upcoming entrepreneurs. I got my research from various statistical analysis and the entrepreneur ma...

Magazine Genre Codes and Conventions #4 (Target Audience Prediction)

Image
The target audience within the magazine that I have chosen would be predominately white males with higher education. Also, these individuals would hold white collar jobs if they had a job as of reading this magazine (Entrepreneur). There are a few parts of the magazine were the target audience is females in general; this might be because females do not go into the field of business as much as men. The magazine would want to promote this idea: more women in the business industry especially ones that want to become entrepreneurs.  This target audience could be justified on the basis that men run the industry of business. This idea could cause this type of magazine to go after white males; however, another justification for this is the magazine's overall bland color palette and men usually do not care for a visually pleasing entity. For my target audience, I should keep in mind the colors of fonts and backgrounds. Also, I should try to use images and make my magazine's main t...

Magazine Genre Codes and Conventions #3 (Spreads)

Image
Magazine Spread #1 This spread is very plain with barely any color. This is overshadowed by the burden, the amount of W ; this feature is right under the bolded title and tells the reader that a new spread is about to begin. Another feature that this spread has would be right in the middle of it there is a simplified/summarized version that tells the reader why this tool is important to business people. Instead of the readers concluding this information by themselves the magazine outright tells them. Furthermore, under the title in different font color, there is a hint and this hint is comprised by what this spread will be talking about- to pull interested readers in. There is an image in this spread which is the device that the spread is revolved around. Also, the font encapsulates the image within the spread. Magazine Spread #2 This spread is about an entrepreneur so of course, the spread has an image of them. This spread once again has one image per page. Since the mag...

Magazine Codes and Conventions #2 (Table of Contents)

Image
Magazine table of contents#1 This magazine issue delves into the opinions of executive officers within the fields of government, commerce, and industry. For each opinion, there is a number that is associated with the topic the person has an opinion on. Below the topic, there is a quote from the individual followed by their name and the esteem that follows with them such as founders and or executive officers. This table of contents has serif fonts which put emphasis on the pristine and formality that these entrepreneurs have had to be successful. The images within the table of contents include co-founders of DABO & CO which outs emphasis that women can become successful in the field of entrepreneurship as well. The other image is about a group CEO of Doha bank located in India. This CEO deals with many foreign affairs and international policy if he and his fellow CEO’s wanted to expand their banking business. Because of international policy and how many people do not know ...
