Magazine Genre Codes and Conventions #3 (Spreads)
Magazine Spread #1
This spread is very plain with barely any color. This is overshadowed by the burden, the amount of W; this feature is right under the bolded title and tells the reader that a new spread is about to begin. Another feature that this spread has would be right in the middle of it there is a simplified/summarized version that tells the reader why this tool is important to business people. Instead of the readers concluding this information by themselves the magazine outright tells them. Furthermore, under the title in different font color, there is a hint and this hint is comprised by what this spread will be talking about- to pull interested readers in. There is an image in this spread which is the device that the spread is revolved around. Also, the font encapsulates the image within the spread.
Magazine Spread #2

Magazine Spread#= #3
This spread is more colorful than the rest of the spreads I have covered. In this spread, there is orange and red colored text located under the bolded title which defines the section you are reading. Also, the overall tone of this spread is more joyful simply because of the image that contains what is presumed to be friends having fun or at least are happy running their fashion/ clothing business. This spread goes into detail about this clothing store because of the amount of revenue it generated in a small amount of time, which makes these women successful entrepreneurs. Since this was a happy moment for the store, the magazine wanted to have the spread convey a lighter tone.
After analyzing these spreads, I will have to keep in mind if my magazine wants to convey a simple look that appeals to many individuals such as the black font with the white background. Also, I should keep in mind the font colors I will be using if I want to convey a certain mood towards the audience. I could also add a summary or if I feel as my audience will not understand the topic I can have a brief explanation in a box. I should also consider the types and number of photos within my spread. Maybe create sections within the spread t divide and simplify it for my audience. Furthermore, a consideration that I should be keeping in mind is when to bold my words. These spreads had titles bolded but also one had bolded letters for the audience to know when they have reached a new section within the spread.
