Planning the Photo Shoots #2

Picture #3: This picture will consist of a beach with a few palm trees within the frame. I will try and get another model that will be lying down on a lawn chair holding a coconut in one hand, the iconic cliche. I do not know whether or not I want the sun to be setting. Once again the models face will not be shown if I even like the shot in the first place. My other idea is that there is no model but a lonely chair empty on the sand. In this shot, I do not know if the coconut prop will be used. I might edit the photo via Photoshop and change the Hue/Saturation of the image itself to look more orange as if the sun is at peak position; however, it still looks like it is set based on the color being reflected off of the sun. This will cause the image to look more fantasy like. Picture#4 I want this photo to encompass the reason for my magazine: getting the masses' attention on better ways of getting a steady income, investing. I will have a model sit down on a chair that will be...

Planning the Photo Shoots #1

Picture#1: For my first picture, the cover's image, I will be trying to recreate the photos taken from the Entrepreneur magazine. I have chosen a model that will be coming by to begin the session. The model will be wearing a black suit, a white button-up shirt, and a black tie. To recreate the background of the magazine I will be setting up a black cloth that will spread along the wall. This will prompt me to turn off the lights and use a handheld light (giving off white light not a mixture of yellow or orange. I will be trying to get half of the model's face within the light and the other out, gives off an ominous feeling. This feeling will convey to the reader that the individual within the cover has a higher power. If I do not like how the background looks, I will edit the picture using Photoshop: putting a filter ( most likely a distortion filter) and if I want the image to be darker I will use the burn tool to darken the image. Picture #2: The second picture will co...

Creating the Cover cont. (Fonts and Colors)

Image
Fonts: The font that I would be considered to be using is the O ld English  Font MT. Based on the look itself it reminds the reader that the magazine could have been relevant beginning from a long time. Also, the name itself symbolizes how the magazine engulfs the natural mindset of the original American  colonists that conjured the Declaration of Independence "Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of H appiness ". This could correlate with the audience of my magazine since many up and coming entrepreneurs are all pursuing their own individual happiness. Colors: The cover will have a background that consists of the color gray- maybe a gradient created in or In-Design. The Masthead's color would be black. The individual's suit will be all black or contain a blue within the suit jacket with a white buttoned up shirt. Most likely the first option, but keeping an open mind should help with the process of creating my magazine. ...

Creating the Cover

Image
After I analyzed my genre of the magazine and the magazine called Entrepreneur itself, I have pondered and decided to make my magazine about a feature spread. With this in mind, the Entrepreneur magazine usually contains ominous colors with the main individual within the middle of the cover. If it is a male they would be a suit and if the main spread would be about a female than they would be business casual attire or a formal dress. Example:                                            Sketch of Cover: Because of these conventions and codes that I have picked up on with this magazine, my cover will be about a young an upcoming entrepreneur that is a male. This means I would be catering to a more male-focused audience.
