The Feature Spread #1

The creation of my magazine spread was a unique experience in InDesign since I have never used the program to create one in the first place. Many ideas circulated in my mind beforehand such as how simplistic I wanted it to look because of my research into the genre that my magazine resides.  The first step in the making of the spread was getting to pages next to each other to represent an opened magazine. I had to create a new document in InDesign starting at page number two and creating a new page so both pages are next to each other- illustrating a spread.  Since I researched the Entrepreneur magazine, their spreads consisted of very simplistic features: fonts, colors, images at most two within a spread in their magazine.

The spread that I created has the Times New Roman font fluttered throughout the spread conveying its simplistic nature like the genre. The spread has images, both corresponding to the main idea that is being about. The title of the spread is bolded just like the Entrepreneur magazine had in their feature spreads. Their spreads usually were consistent to their cover so if their cover had an individual on it then their feature spread would be about that particular individual. My cover was on an individual named Keandre Lennar so of course, my feature spread has to be on him; therefore, I centered my spread on Keandre and on an aspect that I wanted to convey on my audience, making my audience interested in the foreign exchange market. Using Keandre as a catalyst I created my spread with intent to not only show my audience that ordinary individuals can become employed by the market if they put the effort in it, but I also wanted to inform my audience about some benefits about the market itself. Just like the entrepreneurship magazine that had an individual explain how Universal Serial Bus (USBs) can make an entrepreneur’s life easier with an image of a USB on that particular side and on the other was an explanation on how the device worked. The same concept can be seen in my magazine; however, the topic is completely different. On one side of my spread was an individual that the spread was focusing on and the other page would be about the topic itself being Forex since the individual has been a trader within the market. Both pages correlate with the feature spread’s main concept.
