Mood Board Explanation

The mood board that I have created touches on a few key concepts, which I want to integrate into my magazine; each concept pertains to profit or money in terms of recreational use. The image of the suit was picked to illustrate wealth, which my magazine will hopefully touch upon; but it also implies that the core of the magazine is motivated by business and how the average person can integrate techniques that could make one successful. Since, the magazine I would like to create delves in basic economics and the individualistic nature of wanting more for oneself, i.e. a better car, better furniture, a better lifestyle – this reasoning is represented by the picture of the money bag. Furthermore, I picked three colors: yellow, blue, and a dark gray/black because I like the color scheme and how each color could blend well in a magazine color. The yellow represents the joy and euphoria an individual feels after achieving a goal they have wanted, a goal which my magazine wants to bring to light for my audience. The blue and black are juxtaposed next to each to emulate the contrasting features of the colors right next to each other; these colors' intention is to keep the readers in a cool, mellow, sedated state of mind because the topic of money and economics is one that can cause an individual to lose their head.
Moreover, the text that says “Gain Not Lose” refers that what my magazine’s theme is headed towards money and the text was done with the font Arial, which is easy to read, is not dramatic fluff, and does not hurt or deviate your eyes when reading. The picture about furniture had a white font that was easy to read but was also categorized by what was being sold in the picture. This categorization of items in word form seemed to be a good concept that should be incorporated in my magazine. The picture of the stuffed bunnies had a pink salmon bag - the color was pleasing to bear witness and was vibrant enough to catch my eye but not too vibrant that the color made me just want to flip the page. Also, the image that states: ‘CHOOSE COPENHAGEN” has a font that is very catchy, and it brought my eyes toward it - this font style and font illustration could be fused in my magazine.
Thus, the three images of Microsoft, Apple, and Amazon are corporations which over the years have had their stock value increase over time. These companies are just examples that my magazine wants to cover: when someone wants to invest and what companies should individuals invest. This leads to the final two pictures of the mood board: the stock market image accompanied by the shareholder image. Both images are interrelated since both can cause an individual to earn a lot of money by just investing; however, these images also show how an ordinary working class or middle-class citizen can earn mass amounts of extra income by investing. All images that are represented in the mood board help illustrate the very theme of money that my magazine would hold dear.
